About the "Ethics Promotion Programme for Listed Companies"

Background

Hong Kong, being a leading international financial and business centre and one of the most active stock markets in the world, has high expectations on listed companies in practising good corporate governance and upholding high standard of business ethics to safeguard the interest of different stakeholders.

Taking into consideration of the latest international trends and development of local legal and regulatory framework in enhancing corporate governance, coupled with increasing public concern over the ethical standard of listed companies, the Hong Kong Business Ethics Development Centre (HKBEDC) of The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) found it opportune to launch the “Ethics Promotion Programme for Listed Companies” (the Programme).

The Programme aims to enhance the awareness of the top management and related professionals involved in publicly listed companies in Hong Kong of the importance of ethical leadership and their guardian role in sustainable corporate development.
